Rum River Stone House

One of three remaining stone houses built in the 1920's by Thaddeus P. Giddings (1869-1954). The stone houses were part of the landscape of Gidding's home along the Rum River in Anoka, MN.

  1. Do you keep your camera with you at all times to meet the Daily Photo requirement?

  2. Whoa that's cool. Looks delicate, amazing it's still standing. Staying warm? I'm slowly getting it together clothing wise, just need to figure out the finger thing. I have many pairs of gloves, but the ones that really work I can't find the left one. Pretty sure its in the house somewhere.

  4. Was this taken from a height above as it looks like you are at an angle pointing down? The reason I ask is can you get a different viewpoint so as to remove that branch from the left side. Nice detail in the highlights and shadows . Well done cause its hard to do with a lot of snow in the photo.

  5. Wow this is truly special. What a great piece of history. Amazing.
I like how the glimpses of the scene are through the bare branches of the tree. Makes it look like a time worn page. Very cool.

  7. Hello there, I have a couple questions that I've always wanted to ask. Do you take these photos every day? If so, how long does it take you to find the shot you are looking for? If not, do you take tons of photos and save them up? This is the kind of things that your fans want to know..noo...we NEED to know. One of the many reasons I ask these questions is because I have become stagnant in my photography. Taking only pictures of my grandkids and my dogs. Not that THEY are stagnant..well, you know what I mean.

Anyway, I picture you doing this. You swagger through your city undetected at night with camera in hand capturing all the alluring sights. And then I ask myself, when does he sleep? When does he work? When does he eat? These are the things that keep me up at night.

  10. A little piece of history. The house looks tiny though and just one room. I don't think it would suit me..
