These cows lined up straight with heads bent down to gain access to the luscious grass on the other side of the straight line electric fence. Proof that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis on Marquette Ave.

MB spotted the sun spots on this church on our downtown photo walkabout. Both of us were captivated on the reflected sunlight on this church. The sun was actually behind this church. The sunspots seen here are reflected off from the glass buildings.

"In 1999 Westminster was entered on the National Register of Historic Places. This registry is the official list of historic properties recognized by the Federal Government as worthy of preservation for their significance in American history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and culture."

This is a first for me as I typically do not have portrait shots on my photo-blog. Why? I am not confident in my portrait skills.

Last Saturday I was downtown Minneapolis with 7 photographer friends shooting city scenes. As I was capturing a moment on the Nicollet Mall, I was approached by these young ladies to have me take a group photo.

Not knowing the ins and outs of portrait photography, I agreed to give it my best shot, (sorry for the pun). I hope you enjoyed your day downtown.

Downtown Minneapolis from the top of a parking ramp.
A group of us photo enthusiasts; Mitch , Bob , Matt , Werner , Greg , my neighbor MB and his son, Ty, and I hit the streets of Minneapolis for another photo walkabout last Saturday. Fun as always with no major mishaps. Although so many people asked us what we were doing. Sort of evident with all of our camera gear.

I was summoned by six lovely women to take a group shot of them on the Nicollet Mall. I forgot to get permission to post their photo here, I hope they approve. And I must say I was pleased with the result.

Thanks to Mitch for setting this one up. And a special thanks to Bob for making the arrangements for the Foshay Tower excursion and the use of his office for a spectacular view of the city.

The Yellow Truck

A walk down the road produced this find. Covered with lichen, I am left wondering about the story behind this truck. Especially so close to Halloween.

The old yellow truck

It would appear this old truck was abandoned long ago, yet it seems to have been recently moved. The corner window is too clean and there is air in the tires.

If the colors in this photo appear to be over saturated, you are correct. I used a circular polarizing filter that enhances colors to become more vivid. I wanted this truck to appear somewhat operational as it were going to make a left hand turn at any moment.

Haunting abandonment.

I under saturated the colors for this image slightly below what was seen in real time. I was hoping for a more haunting image of an abandoned truck. Strange though if you notice the driver's side headlight and trim ring appear brand new as compared to the passenger's side headlight. Is this truck rejuvenating like the Stephen King book? Remember his book, "Christine"?

My Grandfather's old fishing net. The materials were purchased on one of his many trips back to Finland in the 1960's; hand made by Grandpa. It has seen many seasons of whitefish netting but is now retired.

Little Big Dog

There is nothing bigger than a little terrier; a little dog who's personality is that of a big dog.

Winston turned 13 this year, and has recently gone deaf. A mixed blessing. We can now say such words as walk, squirrel, car, ride, treat, going to the lake. Yet I believe he takes full advantage of not listening to our commands. He's coming along fine with hand signals. But if you know a terrier, they can be stubborn. Stubborn like me, as I'm told. ;)
