06/30/07 Communicate

Staying in touch too much?

For June 29

Garden clematis from our backyard. Jackmani I believe is the variety.
Stella D'Oro I'm thinking. I'm not well versed in the world of flowers. Mounring Dove nest in our deck planter. We named her Dorree. She enjoys our company and listening to the MN Twins on the radio. Must be why she has twin eggs.

Look up, then there was light. Indirect light to illuminate the deck.

06/28/07 Garden Spades

Just under the wire tonight. We had a party at the office, a co-worker retired tonight. I had the privilege of working with him for 13 years. Green, the color of cash. Green for prosperity and good fortune, green for luck, green with envy. Good luck Denny from Cubicle 2A (in Cubicle Cell Block A).

06/27/07 BigAssFan

The large ceiling fan in our office above my cubicle. Fan blades measure 24 feet, 7.3 meters across, tip to tip. for more on this cool fan see www.bigassfans.com

06/26/07 Timex

12 minutes freedom left, then off to work I go. Work is a four letter word. Argh! The watch never lies.

Its Twins!

Doree has twins!

our feathered friend, Doree, enjoys long hours sitting on her eggs and watching us watch her. We'll join her on the deck with pina colada or margarhita refreshments and listen to the Twins games on the radio.

06/25/07 Linear Jungle

Looking upward from my cubicle in "Cell Block A", at the office where I work, affords spectacular views of the roof truss system and skylights. A study in linearity for my sanity.

Enjoy these yellow flowers before they make way for yet another strip mall that sells things we don't need, can't use; but can not live without.

06/23/07

In response to Paul Ewing with his famous "One Photo a Day" album. Let the games continue! I'll give this a try and see what I come up with...and if I can keep up on a daily basis. http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/559593639QaaSKR

For June 22

This Friday's entries; Orange blossom, Wavefalls, and the crescent moon. I already posted the cresent moon pic below, (I'll save you the trouble of uploading it again, see below), but I deemed it worthy enough for my Weshot's 3 Photos a Week Challenge. The flower is from our yard at the cabin on Lake Vermilion as is the wave photo. The waves were crashing onto the rocks near our dock, giving it that waterfall look.

Moon View

The crescent moon was lined up with Venus and soon to be Saturn.

I am no fan of the digital zoom feature on the digital cameras, but 48x was needed to capture the details of this enlarged cresent moon photo.

Planter Family

We retrned from a long weekend to find a new family take residence in our deck flower pot. A family of Mourning Doves built a nest amungst the ivy and petunias. She seems to be interested in us by stretching her neck to look through the sliding glass door to see what we're up to. all the while we're watching her. She seems somewhat comfotable with us using our deck. We now wonder how we should go about watering the flowers while she's there. Stay tuned for more from the Planter Family.

June 15th

For June 15th, these are my latest 3 submissions. An evening of relaxing on the deck with an ice cold refreshing gin and tonic and my camera. The coppery butterfly caught my eye as well as the star shaped umbrella frame work. A geometrical star of sorts. Oh, and the tonic bubbles on the lime signaled to me, that more was needed....

Summer Walk

While walking on our typical route, we passed by this large dandelion seed head. It was so large that I could not resist taking a macro photo of it. So much repetative detail, it is quite stunning, yet a big weed.

Once a Month for June - signs

Many in our Webshot's group decided that a Once a month theme would be fun. Each month, we are to submit one photo depicting the given theme. For June the theme is 'signs', signs that stand out, are fun, whimsical, etc. Signs that are everywhere. My submission for the month of June is this Mini Donuts stand. Chock full of bright and colorful, signs, this caught our attention on our morning stroll before the carnival was open. We had this entire carnival to ourselves, peaceful, the calm before the storm of happy carnival goers. This was the annual Father Henepin Feastival in Champlin, MN. We missed out on the mini donuts. I needed coffee and I couldn't wait for them to open and serve those delectible sugary treats, we were much too early. So we missed out on the mini donuts. Ah well, the iced coffee and raspberry scone from the 'bou' made up for missing the mini donuts. For more on this theme; http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/558264402ZyxNVF

For June 8

A day on the lake Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota. Three scenes that caught my eye in between catching and releasing walleyes. Sorry, no walleye pics this time, maybe next time.
