Old White Pine


Gnarled and weathered, standing stately near the lake shore. Some time decades ago, lightning struck the white pine, breaking it a third of the way up. Now this tree has an unique appearance.

    Very nice photo! Happy the pine survived the lightning strike. I have a pine in our backyard, very tall, that was struck by lightning this past fall and unfortunately it didn't pull through :(
