Wait for Me

I spent considerable time playing cat and mouse to get a good photo of this deer. She was quite camera shy at first, making sure something was in between her and the camera. I all but gave up, turned toward the trail and continued my hike. Much to my surprise, she followed me. When I stopped and turned, she kept on walking toward me and stopped 50 feet (15 meters) from me before she stopped. We stood for a few moments staring at each other before she bound off into the woods.

Nice photo! I can't believe that she allowed you to move your camera up to your face.

And when she got close, you said "Oh, dear!" She looked at you and said, "No deer!" and ran off.

Lucky you got that shot, DL! Which is beautiful!

Hi Mr. and Mrs. D.L.

We have a herd of about 20 on our acreage....what a lovely shot of "Bambi"...wish I could love 'em, but they eat too much of my gardens....just found a great natural deterant though...Human Manure Compost...really works with just a slight odor. We also had 2 tiny little baby fawns this spring that were adorable. As always, I love your photos! Roz (Bella)
