A quick walk through Elm Creek Park Reserve revealed this shy Hooded Merganser pair. I tried sneaking up closer of a better photo. They would have none of that and slipped into the creek swimming upstream away from me. I am thinking I now need a 600mm lens to sneak up on them.

beau coup d'œil, il fallait le voir, ce qui donne une bonne photo
ReplyDeletenice glance, it was necessary to see it, what gives a good photograph
beautiful birds ...
ReplyDeleteStill a good photo though. I mostly get photos of shy birds by chance when taking photo of something else I look round and see bird 8 feet away. But I know the feeling about longer lens.
ReplyDeleteHa! A 600mm would be so heavy you'd need a tripod and you'd never sneak up then :-) Still, it'd sure be sweet to be able to try!
ReplyDeleteHi Dusty, good shot, and a good excuse to treat yourself to a new 600mm lens lol.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. I have the same dilemma trying to photograph birds/wildlife here and have been debating getting something more powerful.
ReplyDeleteI don'th think you really need better lenses... judging also your photos of the cathedral and the stained glass windows! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou guys and your 'toys'!! I agree with Peter. You're doing a great job with whatever you're using. I do however LOVE my 50mm. You would too DL.

Very inconsidrate of them Didn't they know they were about to made famous
ReplyDeleteBirds are buggers like that! Great shot none the less.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing just fine without sneaking...
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that is the only reason you want a 600mm? ;-)
