The last glimpse of the summer rose.
It's all but over as the cold wind blows.
Hope is drained to renew the sight.
Perpetual darkness looms in colorless light.

les roses reviendront au printemps, maintenant place à l'hiver et à la neige (enfin j'espère cette année avoir de la neige sur Évry ;o))
ReplyDeleteroses return in the spring, now up to winter and snow (I hope this year finally have snow on Wyoming ;o))
i love roses ,nice shot and poem ,i also took a photo of the last rose in my neighbours' garden a few days ago ;)
ReplyDeleteGosh - that's a dark poem. Very nice shot of the rose, so delicate. I keep shooting the last rose & then more bloom...it's way to hot here.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I had a layover in Min. for only an hour. Very nice airport - but the bars close a 9 pm. Luckily subway stayed open for all the delayed flights.
The last rose of summer...so evocative. I'm surprised they're still blooming in Minneapolis given that it gets pretty cold there..
ReplyDeleteChin up buddy, we'll make it through the gloom and darkness. I'm trying to think up some indoor photo opportunities for us all.
ReplyDeleteGreat roses, we should head back to the Conservatory in St. Paul!

I second the idea for the conservitory. Just seeing your photo made me hunger for some color. Lets set up a day--okay?
ReplyDeleteOh and the Vatican Splendor I mentioned on my blog is still happening I think through December. No Photos whatsoever allowed, though :( But yes, it is interesting. Spendy--about $25 per person, students cheaper.
Alas, summer. So sad to see it go...
ReplyDeleteAh, so pretty! And, fitting song.
