Chocolate, perfect to start the new year!
2008 is over,; the year went out with a bang. As Mrs. DL and I were dining on our traditional New Year's Eve dinner fondue of steak, shrimp, and scallops, our electric service quit. Our entire neighborhood went dark for 45 minutes. We continued by enjoying a bottle of wine in candlelight. Afterward, our internet service was down until late in Years Day. What a way to end 2008. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come for 2009.

Bottle of wine in candlelight , it's a good way to finish the year, it's just mean that 2009 will be romantic, that's the sign :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fantastic 2009 filled with chocolate truffles by candlelight!

I'm with babzy :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that Babzy's comment makes a lot of sense. We don't want another year like 2008, under any circumstances! Cheers for 2009!!
ReplyDeleteRe. your comment on my blog. I discovered that the zoo does not allow tripods after I got there, but you can use it if you don't extend the legs. They're concerned about liability with people tripping over it, etc. Makes sense, esp. with the crowd that was there yesteday.
A nice bottle of red and a log fire. That's the way to go.
ReplyDeleteDL, You're supposed to be delighted the lights went out on New Year's Eve. We need to work on the "romantic devil" aspects here.
ReplyDeletePS Love the sountrack of Chocolat ! Have most of the songs on my IPOD.
Wine and candle light sounds fine! If possible every day as well as a bit of chocolate!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for 2009!
Sounds just the thing. Those goodies look a little too enticing. Happy New Year, Dusty Lens.
ReplyDeleteHope that good food didn't go bad on you. At least you were able to enjoy some wine and ambiance.
ReplyDeleteI'm eating up all of my christmas chocs and sweets ready to start my diet on monday!
ReplyDeleteWine by candlelight is the perfect start to the New Year :)
What a romantic night. I was in my PJ's and almost forgot about the New Year until about 3 minutes till midnight. Then I went to bed...as exciting as that sounds, it wasn't. Love the chocolate pics.
ReplyDeleteOh, DL, it'll get better! '~) What could be more romantic than wine and a cozy winter cuddle? (The heat didn't go out did it? Brrrr!) I hope your cheese reheated nicely and that tomorrow will be a better day.
ReplyDeleteI went to Walgreens today and had a billion 4 x 6's made of the sunset you liked so much. I'm giving them out in lieu of the Christmas cards I never got around to sending out. If you would like a copy to cheer yourself up email me and I'll send you a copy via snail mail. Happy New Year!
