Sentinal Heron


This Heron is standing on the spillway of the Coon Rapids Dam. High above on the dam walkway, I got a pretty good shot of him.

What a shot. The detail is extraordinary. Herons are amazing birds. When I visit my friend in Ohio I get to see them there. Never seen one here tho. Presumably not the right climate?

Wow. That is an awesome shot. Extremely sharp and clear. The more and more I see them, the more and more I am appreciating bird shots... especially when you realize what goes into getting them.

Nice photo, I love these birds, I walk the nearby canal quite a bit so I see the odd one every few weeks.
