Season's First Snow

2

October 12th, 2009, the first snow of the season and the leaves haven't completely fallen from the trees. We may be in for a long long winter.

Christmas season is also upon us. Costco, Kohl's, and Hallmark have had their Christmas displays up in their shops since early September, shortly after school started. It is no wonder I hate shopping, we're subjected to blatant marketing campaigns. Sadly, this Christmas Consumerism Campaign lasts 3 months. Merry Retail Sales and Happy Corporate Earnings.

Isn't it a bit surreal that the leaves are still GREEN on the trees?!??!!? Great shots. :)

It's so early! It's pretty though, you've got the perfect little Christmas tree there. We won't have Christmas stuff out for another month or so...

WOW! I am NOT ready for WINTER - or for Christmas displays for that matter! I think we should boycott purchased Christmas gifts this year and give items from the heart ie, a letter to a parent or child telling them how much they mean to us, or a poem inspired by someone special.

You really did get snow!

I'm amazed that I haven't seen any Christmas ads or stuff here yet! I guess in Europe it isn't so commercial. It's nice!

Snow is so pretty and so unusual to see when the trees still have leaves. it is also very dangerous since the trees can barely handle so much weight. The past few years we have had very early unusual snows like this. We may have some over the weekend.
