May Day! May Day!Round Two. A Bald Eagle chases an Osprey across the Mississippi River from where I was standing. This Osprey was previously injured in a battle with a Bald Eagle years prior. He is easily identified by his torn but healed left wing. Stay tuned, more Osprey pics on Tuesday, and probably more afterward.
This was my first attempt at panning while shooting an image. Needless to say I need more work on panning.

DL, this is simply fantastic, I'm gobsmacked.
I had no idea you had Ospreys in your area. We are loaded with them here but few Eagles.
So nice! And the picture yesterday is awesome.
The birds speed is often each time different which does not help the panning... Good luck.
I think you've got panning nailed my friend. Hope the eagle didn't get him! Yikes.

It's great that you caught them mid-chase! I love bird watching. I'm currently at my parent's house and they have some good bird watching here.
panning unexpectedly is very hard to plan for, haha....with a bit of luck to be that at that moment....well done
