I bought a Burley to haul around my grandkids. Now that they're too big (14 and 6) and too heavy, I use it for groceries. They're wonderful for young children. Who's going to steal something so obvious? I guess enough people would try it so I do lock it up!
OK, Get ready for my rant. We put kids in helmets when they so much as ride a tricycle in the driveway, we strap them in a carseat from the womb till they are half grown, but parents put babies in those things, 6 inches above the pavement, drag it behind their bikes (therefore they cannot see what is approaching from the rear) and take it on the road. If they stuck to the sidewalks or paths I could understand. But dragging a child behind you in traffic protected by some nylon fabric? I don't get it. Sorry folks, just had to say it.
DL< They say a picture is woth a thousand words. Guess I proved it.!
Cute photo....I really like the reds and the yellow and they way the stripes go one direction and the bikes go the opposite. Nice compostion!
I saw one of those child-draggers....I don't know what you call them.... yesterday and I kinda had the same thought about the safety issue. I did take my child in one, one time. Yesterday we saw these by Leif Erikson Park on the sidewalk. But do you think having a child on your back is much safer?
They'd soon be stolen if there were left here like that!

The photo is great...I had never really given Virginia's comment much thought. Now I will.
ReplyDeleteHope they don't get a ticket or a wheel clamped! Great shot.
