Jurasic Stump

Thanks to blogger and the scheduled posting.
On Saturday morning, we lost all connection to the outside world from the internet. We had a frustrating day spent troubleshooting the problem. However, this was short lived as we spent a wonderful time at a friends home for dinner. The six of us enjoyed a wonderful evening on the porch with a nice fire listening to the rain. (I think we drank them out of house and home, sorry Mr. and Mrs. Kakeroo. And thanks for the wonderful evening).
Sunday, was spent purchasing a new modem and reconfiguring the ISP addresses to get both the work PC and home PC up and running. By 11 PM, little success as we figured out our our router also was not working. Yet another day offline. This afternoon, the PC troubles are now repaired; much thanks to Mrs. DL who managed the configuring on the telephone with tech. support. (I have little patience for such things).

The beauty of wood and moss.

  1. Agh! How frustrating & glad you had such a nice evening with friends. I'm the one who calls user support & I remember hanging up on some of them (after at least an hour on the phone) when trying to get the router working - never did get it working, bought a new one, but a whole Sunday was wasted. Luckily no problems for a long time.

  8. Just a gorgeous photo full of texture. THree cheers for Mrs. DL for her patience and determination. Tech support is soooo hard, especially if you need someone who speaks English clearly.

  10. It so annoying when things we rely on stop working. Hope things are sorted out now.

I like the detail of the bark in your photo.

  11. Nothing more frustrating than lost internet connections. I went through similar problems a few weeks ago and called my brother for help. (He's an IT engineer for the government.) We went through thirty bajillion different scenario fixes and finally he said, "Do this. Turn off the Airport. Turn off the modem. Unplug the Airport. Wait 30 seconds. Turn on the modem. Plug in the Airport. Turn on the Airport. See what happens."

Wouldn't you know, that fixed it! Go figure.

Great picture. The texture is so sharp, you almost want to reach out and touch the tree.

  13. I agree with Evlahos: less time behind the PC and more time for family and friends.
The photo of this wonderful tree is amazing in all its fine details!! So well captured.

  14. D.C. will you kindly publish your brother's phone number for all of us so that we can skip right over Tech Support and go directly to him to take care of all our computer needs???
