This week's 2 Things Challenge is Music/Note. Here are a few photos of Mrs. DL's clarinet from her high school band/orchestra days. The antique Clarinet music book is dated from 1847.
Perfect in B&W...I can see that last one as a poster. And loved listening to Benny...a blast from my past...my dad was a musician and I grew up on big bands and dixieland.
Love B&W. At one time I almost exclusively shot in B&W, and once the snow lands that's pretty much all we have out there. Good opportunity for some IR shots :)
It's a winning combination! Have you ever been in the lower level of Landmark Center? On display there are many different musical instruments; haven't been there for a long time so I hope that is still true. You might want to go there to take a look.
Loved these pictures, especially the BW closeups. And thanks for the Benny Goodman tracks. Everyone knows the name but people need to be reminding how good this music is. Man-o-man those guys were smokin' hot!
As usual, you have outdone yourself! These photos are great. That first song is one of my all time favorites to swing dance to! My partners are usually dismayed, however, because it is VERY long! ;-)
These photos are gorgeous, Rob. You did a great job with this challenge, as always! I love the colors in the first photo and the detail in the B&W's. Well done!

ReplyDeleteWow, that's a beauty. & an 1847 music book!!! Incredible.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your musical instruments photos - I'm thinking of the piano a while back.
GORGEOUS! That first shot is exquisite. It should be blown up huge and hang over a baby grand piano. I love it.
ReplyDelete(Thanks for playing one of my favorite jazz masters of ALL time, too.)
