01/115/08 - St the Baptist Detail
St John the Baptist, standing between the steeples.

The Parish dates back to 1857 in a log cabin. In 1904, this Gothic "Cruciform" in style church was built.

01/15/08 - St john the Baptist St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton, MN on a wintery day. Such a pretty church that can be seen for some distances. The bell tower is 150 feet high with a 13 foot tall cross, the belfry is 96 feet hight with a 7 foot tall cross.

It’s a very attractive Church. The older Churches have much more character than the newer megachurches.

I often thought it would be fun to photo old churches in small towns. This is a great start for that kind of theme!

Lovely! My husband used to get me to stop the car when he saw churches in little towns just to get a photo of them.
