Looking up from the tail section of this B17. What an honor it was to listen to old veterans tell their stories of flying in these planes.

Taxiing for take off. For a mere $400, you too can take an hour long ride in this vintage airplane. I sure wish I had the spare cash for a flight. But sadly, I remain grounded.

but even seeing them is great!
ReplyDeleteThat would've been fun! And have I told you lately that I appreciate the camera settings info?
ReplyDeleteThe top pic is great. Looking off into the beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteI like your pictures of the B-17. I would like to fly in one of them myself but missed the chance. Our annual Dayton International Air Show was this past weekend and attendance was down again. I think the newspaper said only 70,000 attended the 2-day event.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you caught the cloud reflections in the shiny metal of the plane. I've seen these big birds in person too, they're spectacular. My dad was a Navy airplane mechanic in WWII, so I heard a lot about them.
ReplyDeleteAt that price I think I'll enjoy the ride through your lens!

ReplyDeleteBet that's not the first time you've been "grounded" right???:) As always, you found a terrific angle on that old B17. Just a great shot.
PS I stay here longer now to enjoy the tunes. Thanks
très bonne perspective sur ta première photo. Il est très beau cet avion.
ReplyDeletevery good perspective on your first picture. It is this beautiful aircraft.
Nice perspective on that last shot. Between these pictures and the music it's like taking a trip back in time. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe soft reflections in the harsh metal are fab. I notice you have now been discovered. About time too. Don't like to keep good blogs to myself.
ReplyDeleteThat top shot is insanely good (or maybe "sick" as the kids say these days). You sure have some good contenders for the Photo Friday challenge this week! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat sky... great definition... interesting point of view...
ReplyDeleteWow! That first photo is amazing! What a great perspective and composition. Well done, Rob!
