Beautiful colors, but I have no clue as to why this leaf has them this time of year...from the spots I'd have to guess parasite, but that's totally a guess.

I have seen a few leaves lke this myself, Dusty, and I got almost panicky thinking, "Is this fall already starting?! We just got summer !!". I still don't know what it is, and its pretty and all but I'm nowhere near ready for fall.

It's the blue-gray background color that makes the reds on this leaf really stand out.

Funny that you should post this, I was driving today and passed several trees where the leaves are starting to change colour. Its strange, but that is the joy of Mother Nature!
The tree leaves have been visited by some bugs which accounts for the darker spots.
It is the last of July and our leaves here in Ohio will begin to turn next month and last through late September.
I am not looking forward to winter.
